Odd Socks, Big Smiles: Socks for Smiles
This October, be.UP Park is putting its best, and most brilliantly mismatched, foot forward for the Smile Foundation’s Socks for Smiles campaign. We are wearing odd socks to celebrate individuality, spark important conversations and help support children who need life-changing reconstructive care.
At be.UP, fun has never been about fitting into a box. It is about climbing higher, bouncing further, trying again, cheering on your friends and discovering what you can do. That is why Socks for Smiles is such a natural fit for our parks. One spotty sock and one striped sock may not match, but together they make a statement: different is not something to hide. It is your edge.
Socks for Smiles at be.UP
This October, purchase a Smile sticker for R20 at a participating be.UP Park location and support the Smile Foundation. Your sticker is a small way to make a meaningful difference, helping the organisation continue its work with children living with facial conditions and burn injuries.
The Smile Foundation brings together funding, medical expertise and care to help children access reconstructive surgery, as well as psychosocial support for children and their families throughout the treatment journey.
When you wear your Smile sticker and your odd socks, you are not simply taking part in a fun dress-up moment. You are helping spread a message of confidence, acceptance and inclusion. And all this while supporting a cause that helps children smile with greater freedom and self-belief.

Three Indoor Parks, One Big Smile
All three of our be.UP Park indoor play parks will take part in Socks for Smiles this October. Visit the the park closest to you:
Whether your family is ready for wall-to-wall trampoline action, climbing challenges, aerial adventures or a maze filled with surprises, come and celebrate at your nearest participating park.

Why We Support Smile Foundation
Every child deserves to feel safe, seen and proud of who they are. That belief is at the heart of the Smile Foundation’s work and it is why be.UP is proud to support Socks for Smiles.
The Foundation provides life-changing surgery and psychosocial support to children living with facial conditions and burns. Their work reaches beyond an operation, helping families access the practical and emotional support needed before, during and after treatment.
In addition to the fundraiser, we’re also excited that we’ll be hosting the kids at our park! A group of Smile Foundation kids will join us for a day of fun. We want to create an opportunity for the children to climb, bounce, explore and simply enjoy being kids.
Through our recycled sock programme, each child will furthermore receive a pair of mismatched socks. This is to help keep the initiative going and celebrating the idea that no two journeys need to look the same.
Wear Your Odd On 17 October
Mark 17 October in your calendar and wear your Smile sticker proudly when visiting be.UP. Anyone who has purchased a sticker, or buys one at the park on the day, and is wearing it can choose one of two special offers:

Odd socks may seem like a small thing, but small actions can create big change.
They remind children (and adults) that the qualities which make someone stand out can also make them strong, creative and unforgettable.

The Smile Foundation – Changing Lives, One Smile at a Time.
Smile Foundation began with one child and a call for help that reached Nelson Mandela, sparking a vision to make specialised reconstructive surgery accessible in South Africa.
Rather than sending children overseas for treatment, the focus shifted to building local expertise by bringing international specialists to train South African doctors. This approach laid the foundation for a more sustainable way to deliver care.
What started as a single act of compassion has grown into a national organisation, working with public hospitals and medical teams to transform the lives of thousands of children.
