Toddlers in Umhlanga, this one’s yours. Up on the 2nd floor of Gateway Theatre of Shopping, be.UP Gateway has two spaces just for little ones: a soft-play area for under-3s and Little Town for under-4s, with a ball pit and low climbing made for small hands and feet.
Two toddler spaces at Gateway
- Toddler soft play (under 3): soft shapes, sensory toys, mini slides and toddler slides.
- Little Town (under 4): a play town for role-play and exploring, plus the ball pit.
- Age-appropriate climbing in the toddler zone, all enclosed and in view of the café.

be.Little keeps your toddler in Little Town. be.Little and Parent lets an under-4 explore the main play areas with you alongside: grown-ups who join an under-4 in the play areas need it (or Pram Jam), and watching from the café is free. For an older sibling, DoubleUP is R180 for 2 hours of play on weekdays until Fri 4 Dec (not on Wed 4 Nov). Grip socks are compulsory on the play floor: R50, or any brand of your own.

- Parking: use Parking B and the lift to Level 4.
- Prams and wheelchairs: access through the mall entrances and lifts.
- School-term hours: Monday to Thursday 11:00 to 19:00, Friday 11:00 to 20:00, Saturday 09:00 to 18:30, Sunday 09:00 to 19:00. Weekdays are quieter.
