FAQ

Where is be.UP Park located?
You can find be.UP Park at Gateway Theatre of Shopping, Umhlanga Ridge, 4919, in the new Food court, 2nd floor, Shop E-064. Find  more details of our location, routes, hours and prices on our Location Page.
Do you have parking?
All parkades of Gateway Theatre of Shopping are easily accessible from any of the 13 mall entrances.
Take the elevator in Parkade B to the Cinema and Entertainment level. Please read the Gateway world specific page for more info.
When can I plan my party?
You can plan your Party for anytime during our hours of operation : just check the availability in your Online Booking System for Parties.

We offer better prices for midweek parties (Monday: 11;00AM – Thu: 6:00PM).

Kindly note that specific areas or our entire park can be booked for exceptional Parties. Days and NIGHTS! So if you need a very special event, do not hesitate to contact us by email booking@beuppark.co.za

Is there an age or height restriction at be.UP Park?
In order to play in be.UP Park children need to be at least an age of 3 years old to ensure there are no bruises or bumps.
Note that kids under the height of 120 cm only have access to our huge Kids’ Maze (reserved slides, trampolines and spider tower for a lot of safe fun) and the Climbing Walls area (Clip ‘n Climb challenges).
You must be 120 cm or more in height to have general access to the be.UP Park’s activities: Trampoline, Climbing Walls, AltiGame an Kids’ Maze.
You can access be.UP Park on your own from 13 years of age. Under that age you should be accompanied by a parent or caretaker. You still need to have your waiver signed by a duly authorized person.
From 18 years of age you can sign your own waiver.
Someone over the age of 18 needs to sign the waiver for anyone under 18 years of age.
Are there any weight or height limits?
The weight limit for our Kids’ Maze is 110 kgs / Trampolines and AltiGame 125 kgs / Climbing Walls 150 kgs. There is no height limit because the ceiling is just so incredibly high.
Can I order food extras
Yes you can pre-order optional extras to take your party to the next level: platters, bowls, Party bags, Goodies… Simply send an enquiry by email booking@beuppark.co.za to receive the list of our ADD-ONS.
Do I get the use of the different play areas exclusively?
No, we do however ensure that our strict capacity levels are adhered to at all times. If you want to rent our entire Park for a private event please drop us an email to booking@beuppark.co.za or give us a call on 087 057 1400 anytime from Monday – Friday (9:00AM-5:00PM).
Can I rent your Park for a private event?

Is there a minimum number for parties?
The minimum number for a party is 10 people up to 24 people. We can also cater for parties of more if required. Please send us an enquiry at booking@beuppark.co.za or give us a call on 087 057 1400 anytime from Monday – Friday (9:00AM-5:00PM).
How do I book my Party?
To book your birthday party, there are different options on our website.

Visit our website > Plan your event > Make an enquiry, Request a callback or Make a booking directly online. If you prefer, you can also give us a call.

How far in advance should I book my be.UP Party?
According to our experience, to ensure you get a time that suits you best we advise booking 4-6 weeks before the time.

Our online booking system won’t allow for bookings within 1 week but that doesn’t mean we don’t have some space left so make sure to give us a call (087 057 1400 anytime from Monday – Friday / 9:00AM-5:00PM).

How does payment work?
The total payment is required upon booking in order to confirm your event in our booking system. You can pay by credit/debit card or EFT. Please refer to our cancellation policy below.
When must numbers be confirmed by? Can I add extra guests?
Event numbers must be confirmed at least 7 days before the day of the party. If you would like to add additional guests to the party you can call our Central office (087 057 1400 anytime from Monday – Friday / 9:00AM-5:00PM) and see if there is suitable availability.

However please be aware that once we have passed our capacity for that time period we can’t allow any extra guests. Space fills up very fast!

Please note that if you arrive on the day with less numbers you will be charged as per your confirmed booking.

Do I get a party host when I book a package?
Yes, our be.UP hosts will ensure to greet the party on arrival, brief the children before they enter the game areas, guide them to the different areas of the park and bring them to their allocated party room to serve food and beverages once their activity time is over.

Please keep in mind that our hosts are not with the children for their full duration of playing, but our be.Staff are always on hand to supervise all our play zones.

What does your party host help with?
Your party host is there to make sure the experience is as smooth and hassle free for you as possible.
After setting up your room, the party host will greet you and your guests, providing each party guest with labels or wristbands and socks.
After introducing guests to the park, your party will have access to the park for approximately 1 hour (or more).
At the end of this time, the party host will call the guests back to the room for party food. Finally, after you’re finished with the private room, they clean up the mess for you!

Please note: The party host does not stay with the group the entire time they are playing in the park. We find some parties prefer structure, and some parties prefer freedom. If you would like a party host for the entire duration of the party, please ensure you notify our Staff at least 7 days in advance of your booking.

How long do be.UP Parties go on for?
be.UP Parties run for 2 hours : 90 minutes playing + 30 minutes in a private Party Room

be.Junior Party (adapted for the smaller kids):

  • 90 minutes playing, exploring the huge Kids’ Maze,
  • 30 minutes enjoying your Private Party room (15 minutes to share the be.UP Party Snack box, your cake and be happy with parents and friends + 15 minutes to say Good Bye!).

be.Giant Party (adapted for the guys over 1.20m)

  • 90 minutes playing (General access to the Trampoline zone, AltiGame and Kids’ Maze)
  • 30 minutes enjoying your Private Party room (15 minutes to share the be.UP Party Snack box, your cake and be happy with parents and friends + 15 minutes to say Good Bye!)

be.Full Party (adapted for the guys over 1.20m)

  • 90 minutes playing (60 minutes General access to the Trampoline zone, AltiGame and Kids’ Maze + 30 minutes Clip ‘n Climb Challenges)
  • 30 minutes enjoying your Private Party room (15 minutes to share the be.UP Party Snack box, your cake and be happy with parents and friends + 15 minutes to say Good Bye!)

We always ask parents to invite children 10 minutes before the start of the activity (private check-in) to guarantee all children an accurate start time.

What about parental supervision?
Although be.UP Park has trained Staff on duty at all times, across all open areas of the park, children always remain their parent’s responsibility.

All children under the age of 13 must be supervised by a parent/guardian at all times.

Do parents need to stay at the party?
The parents of the Star of the day are required to stay at the party. We request 1 adult per 5 children. So if you have 20 children we expect the 2 parents and 2 other adults to be present.

Most importantly please note that the parent(s) hosting the party are responsible for the children attending the party from the time they arrive until they have been collected by their own parent(s)/guardian(s).

How do you decipher my kid’s party from everyone else?
We allocate different labels to every child’s party so we know who is part of that group and when their playtime has ended.
Where do I pick up children when the party is finished?
At the same place all children were dropped off, kids party check-in.
What should I wear to participate in the different activities?
This isn’t a fashion show so go with comfortable clothing to enjoy the fun activities! Only appropriate clothing must be worn. This means loose-fitting clothes, T-shirts and athletic wear that allows pores to breathe.
This may seem a bit obvious but we don’t allow stuff with pointy bits in the play zones.
One last thing: you can’t wear any jewellery of any sort while playing in be.UP Park.
What happens to our shoes when the socks go on?
The shoes are placed on a shelf in the allocated party room. Lockers are also available to secure (R30 deposit).
Why do I need to wear those grippy be.UP socks?
Our be.UP socks have been designed to increase grip in the games, reducing the risk of injury. Yes, it’s now a bit of a legal requirement sort of thing.
We want to do whatever it takes to keep you safe after all. The socks are included in all our Party packages: 1 pair of socks for each party guest. If you need more, they cost just R20 and are yours to keep and re-use.
Do I need to buy the grippy be.UP socks every time I visit my favourite Park?
No, you can buy them once and bring them every time you visit.
Can I wear glasses?
Sure. It’s important to see, but they may fall off. Make sure they are well secured. Wear them at your own risk.
Can I bring my own room decorations?
With pleasure if your material fits with ours. Don’t hesitate to send us a message at booking@beuppark.co.za if you have a doubt.

Note all must be removed on exiting the party room.

Can I bring outside food or drinks?
We do not allow external food or drinks due to agreements with suppliers and licensing restrictions.

Our party packages come with a be.UP Snack box. We also have a list of add-ons for the Parties and Events. Send us a email at booking@beuppark.co.za if you didn’t receive it yet.

Party package bookings can bring along a birthday cake, but this does not apply to general play sessions.

Exceptions accepted for baby food and disability requirements.

What food/beverages do you serve for the Parties and Events?
Included in all our packages, we offer a very special be.UP Snack Box. You can choose between our Classic or Healthy option. But you can also ask for our list of add-ons we cater for the parties & Events. Do not hesitate to send us an enquiry 😉
Do you cater for specific dietary requirements?
We can cater for most dietary requirements. Please call our Central Office 087 057 1400 anytime from Monday – Friday (9:00AM-5:00PM) to let us know what they are.
How do we get invitations?
We have invites that we send you by email and you can print them.
What is in your be.UP Goodie bag?
Our be.UP Party Bag is a Hit! Your young guests will love it. It contains 1 be.UP silicone wristband, 1 be.UP sticker, 1 flashy mini ball or other fun Toy and sweets 😉
Do you have Wi-Fi?
Wi-Fi in be.UP park is fully functioning. We chase our suppliers every day to make sure you can surf the net freely.
We cannot guarantee full and constant high capacity but strive to offer the best conditions.
Do you need to sign a waiver before you can participate at a be.UP party?
Yes. Everybody needs to have a waiver signed.

If you are under the age of 18, your parent or legal guardian must sign the waiver for you, but does not have to be present when you visit the facility.

Waivers can be filled out online (click here to sign your waiver now) or filled out at the location.

We highly recommend completing waivers online so that they link with our booking system at the park and you will have a much quicker check-in process when you arrive.

Waivers will stay on file for one year.

Are be.UP Park Activities dangerous?
Trampoline jumping, climbing walls and the ropes courses are comparable in risk to other sports like skateboarding, snow skiing, ice hockey and football. Jump or climb within your ability and don’t attempt advanced moves that are beyond you. This is not the place to show off or try to impress anyone.

Fortunately, we’ve invested heavily in training our Staff. Anyone can blow a whistle. Our park safety monitors are trained to predict and prevent – not just react to things.

What are your safety rules?
To ensure the safety of all our be.UP Park guests, there is a court monitor supervising all areas of the park at all times.

We have strict capacity levels that we adhere to on a daily basis and all guests are briefed on dos and don’ts before their playtime begins.

Our T&Cs will all be included in your confirmation when booking, which must be signed.

We reserve the right to exclude any person not willing to follow our internal safety rules.

What is your cancellation policy?
You may cancel your party booking subject to be.UP Park receiving your request for cancellation with no less than 2 weeks’ notice before the booked start time. Any requests for cancellation must be made via email to booking@beuppark.co.za. We will confirm your cancellation in writing.

If you cancel at least 2 weeks before the event, your refund will be subject to a charge of 30% of the amount paid. No refund allowed within 2 weeks of the event.

be.UP Park shall be entitled to cancel your booking at any time.
In the event that we need to cancel your booking, we shall notify you as soon as possible. You shall be entitled to a full refund in the event of cancellation under this clause but no other compensation shall be payable.
In the event that it proves necessary to close the Activities for reasons beyond the control of be.UP Park and in circumstances where your party has commenced participation in the Activities, you shall not be entitled to any refund (in part or in whole). In such circumstances be.UP Park may, but shall not be obliged to, offer alternative dates or times at reduced rates.

Lost and found
If you have lost anything at our site please email us at enquiry@beuppark.co.za with subject “Lost Property” and a description or call our Central Office 087 057 1400 anytime from Monday – Friday (9:00AM-5:00PM).

We do not take responsibility for anything lost at the site.

If I make an enquiry through be.UP website, what is your delay in response?
All requests will be answered within 48 hours by the events management team. Please be sure to enter your correct details.
